Project Title: Construction of Gataivai Water Supply Network
2017 and 2018 will see the Gatavai village of Savai’i Island’s south coast receive treated water for the first time. A new borehole was drilled and tested in 2016 and treatment facilities, storage tank and approximately 12 kilometers of pipeline will be installed in phases.
Formerly, the 1000 people living in this village only received raw, untreated water supply. This new project will mean they not only receive treated water, but will also have a more reliable service with better water pressure and extended service coverage area.
